Ministry
The Home Place is a spiritual sanctuary deeply rooted in African traditions and guided by biblical principles. It is a vital response to the pressing need for unity within the African American community and beyond, as this ministry seeks to transcend the barriers of ethnicity, class, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, and belief systems. It is committed to cultivating an inclusive and affirming space where healing, spiritual growth, and community empowerment flourish.
Recognizing the importance of broad inclusivity, The Home Place warmly welcomes people of all ethnicities, though its reach extends primarily to the diverse spectrum of the Black/African American community. A core tenet of the ministry is to intentionally engage those who may hold uncertainties or hesitations regarding LGBTQIAN2S+ inclusion, HIV/AIDS advocacy, differently abled individuals, those who identify with mental challenges, and all of those who would be seen as marginalized. By fostering an atmosphere of open dialogue and respectful engagement, from its inception The Home Place aims to cultivate understanding, acceptance, and affirmation within its community.
The primary goal of The Home Place is to establish itself as a S.A.F.E. (Supportive, Affirming, Free from harm, Empowering)™, and validating environment that nurtures spiritual growth, facilitates personal transformation, and fosters community unification. To achieve this the ministry is guided by several key objectives: to create an affirming and inclusive space that welcomes ALL, with a particular focus on those who identify as Black/African American; to facilitate healing and address trauma through dedicated programs and support initiatives; to foster meaningful dialogue and understanding across diverse perspectives, thereby promoting unity within the Black/African American community and beyond; and to empower individuals to deepen their relationship with God (the God of their understanding) and to live lives filled with purpose.

We Affirm YOU!
About Us
Meet the dedicated and visionary leaders of our ministry, Rev. Tana and Rev. Dr. Katrina, who embarked on intentionally building this spiritual community in 2020. Rev. Dr. Katrina and Rev. Tana Roseboro-Marsh have over 30 years of ministry experience between them. Their shared passion for service and deep commitment to holistic well-being is evident in the extensive work they have been engaged in for many years. Rev. Tana has passionately led Intercessory Prayer Ministry, while together, both Rev. Tana and Rev. Dr. Katrina have provided invaluable Couples Spiritual and Pastoral Counseling since 2019. Their impactful preaching engagements have resonated with diverse congregations, and their commitment to theological education is demonstrated through their collaborative Bible studies and workshops, ongoing since 2012.
Furthermore, their compassionate outreach extends to vital HIV/AIDS work, spiritual and mental wellness, single parents, Clothing and Food Pantry, Seniors, and active LGBTQIAN2S+ affirmation initiatives across the US, all undertaken together. Rev. Tana has also spearheaded a Back-to-School Bookbag Drive, while both have been instrumental in curriculum building for both lay individuals and ministers-in-training. Their visible advocacy includes participation in the Trans Day of Visibility March and Programming, and they have both served as insightful panel guests for theological discussions for seminaries, universities, podcasts, and congregations, sharing their wisdom and perspectives. The depth and breadth of their experience underscores their profound dedication to fostering spiritual growth, healing, and inclusive community.
